Beverley Brown-Chislett

Artistic Director / Dance Instructor / Yoga Instructor

As a life-long student of the arts Beverley has dedicated herself to dance, painting and the healing arts. Beverley began her training in highland, folk, tap, jazz, ballet and modern under the loving tutelage of Jean Muir.   In high school she discovered theatre and after graduation continued her studies at Niagara Theatre College in Welland, Ontario majoring in scenic painting. She graduated with an Honours  Degree in Theatre Arts and apprenticed in Mannheim, Germany. After marrying and moving to California, Beverley began ballet classes again and danced professionally in the Southern California Ballet Company as well as freelance. Having been greatly influenced by many of her teachers, she began to teach in 1980 and opened her own studio in Yucca Valley, California. She and her family returned to Canada in 1988 and shortly afterwards she began teaching in Peterborough at the Academy of Dance and Move N’Groove. In 2003 Beverley opened Studio 505 - “Home of the Arts”.

Lindsay Storms

Dance Instructor, Choreographer

Lindsay began her dancing career at the age of three in Toronto, and moved to the Lindsay area at the age of 13, where she continued her studies in R.A.D. Ballet, I.S.T.D. Modern, and Jazz with the Lindsay Dance Studio. After three years of study at Trent University, Lindsay returned to LDS, to pursue her I.S.T.D. Associate for Modern and Jazz. Lindsay has since also acquired her R.A.D. Intermediate ballet and her Associate Diploma with the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D. Most recently Lindsay has been awarded Licentiate status in the within the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D. and has successfully completed the Royal Academy of Dance’s Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies program.  Over the years, Lindsay has had the wonderful opportunity to teach for several studios and elementary and secondary schools across Ontario, both competitive and non-competitive. Lindsay has been with Studio 505 for over a decade, and enjoys working along side Mentor Beverley Brown, and she is looking forward to building on to the already successful recreational Modern and Hip Hop programs, as well as, entering students in upcoming RAD Ballet Examinations. Lindsay continues her passion for learning by taking courses with world renowned examiners and choreographers covering various dance disciplines such as hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary. 


Janice Scanlon

Pilates Instructor

Pilates is a challenging, low impact, total body workout that focuses on strengthening the core and elongating rather than bulking musculature, developing a long, strong, lean form. 

Janice is passionate about Pilates.  She holds a comprehensive Pilates certification through Body Harmonics in Toronto and continues to attend teacher training sessions to best meet the needs of her diverse clientele. She has received various levels of Pilates training including, Mat, Equipment, Prenatal/Postnatal, Runners & Senior specialization.  Clients love her classes for the full body workout through strengthening, stretching and time built in to relax and unwind. She loves what she teaches, believes in what she teaches, and is respected in her field. She is inspired each day by her clients and considers it a great blessing to be part of their personal journeys to improve their overall well-being. 

Dreda Blow
Dance instructor, Choreographer 

Dreda has been working as the principal dancer with Northern Ballet (United Kingdom) for the past 11 years, dancing roles like Juliet, Cinderella, and Jane Eyre. She has choreographed / Directed two ballets for children which toured the UK and were televised by the BBC. She teaches dace-drama to ballet students in Leeds, UK. With a growing in physical theatre and storytelling. She recently studied in the D'ell Arte School in California, Young Peoples Theatre in Toronto, SITI Company and Puchdrunk. She is delighted to be returning to Peterborough to continue her work in narrative dance and Theatre.   


Erin Cole

Highland Dance Instructor 

Erin has been doing Highland Dance for 13 years and has taken part in both competitions and exams. She enjoys working with children and has been assisting in teaching Highland to children from 4 to 14 over 4 years. Erin has completed the premier award exam for Highland as well as the British medallion exam for Nationals and the gold exam for both Irish Jig and Hornpipe.
