Lindsay Storms

RAD RTS, L.I.S.T.D., PBT CERT.

Lindsay has spent well over a decade educating dancers in studios across Southern Ontario, in both competitive and non-competitive settings, specializing in a wide range of dance styles including Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop. Lindsay began her dancing career at the age of three in Toronto under the tutelage of Cynthia Fisher, and moved to the Kawartha area at the age of 13, where she continued her studies in R.A.D. Ballet, I.S.T.D. Modern, and Jazz with the Lindsay Dance Studio. After three years of study in languages and anthropology at Trent University, Lindsay returned to the Lindsay Dance Studio, to pursue her I.S.T.D. Associate for Modern and Jazz. Lindsay has since also acquired her R.A.D. Intermediate ballet and her Associate Diploma with the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D.

After many years of study, Lindsay received her Licentiate status in the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D. and was awarded the Royal Academy of Dance’s Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, under the guidance of mentor Beverley. Over the years, Lindsay has also had the wonderful opportunity to teach students at many different elementary and secondary schools across Ontario. Lindsay has been entering candidates for I.S.T.D. Modern and Jazz exams for over a decade, and more recently R.A.D. Graded and Vocational exams, all of whom have been successful. Most recently, Lindsay has received certification to teach the revolutionary Progressing Ballet Technique Program.  Lindsay has enjoyed, being rehearsal master for Ballet Jorgen's local production of the Nutcracker twice now.  Many of Lindsay's students have gone on to work and study professionally at such schools as The National Ballet of Canada, York University and George Brown College, as well as holding featuring roles in television series such as Degrassi and The Next Step.

Lindsay continues her passion for arts and education by taking courses with world-renowned examiners and choreographers covering various dance disciplines such as hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary, and looks forward to growing these programs within Studio 505.
